What is hemp?

Don’t worry- this plant is not what is commonly known as marijuana. The industrial hemp plant refers to the non-psychoactive plant in the cannabis family. Hemp plants contain far less than 1% of the psychoactive compound known to get you “high” called tetrahydrocannabinol or THC.

The hemp plant has strong, durable and natural soft-fibers that make it extremely useful for industrial and commercial purposes. Hemp has a wide range of uses from food, paper and bedding, to oils, plastics and even fuel.

The industrial hemp plant offers a compound called cannabinoids- specifically, cannabidiol. Cannabidiol, found in hemp extract, Hemp Extract offers a range of benefits from its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anxiolytic and antiemetic properties.

Will hemp extract (CBD) get me “high”?

No. hemp extract (CBD) will not get you high.

The “high” sensation derived from the compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is not attainable with the industrial hemp plant.

HempClubUSA takes pride in our rigorous testing process. All of our products are guaranteed to have absolutely no detectable levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Hemp in the News

Hemp Extract is Making News all over the world…

Cannabidiol is 'not likely to be abused,' WHO says

(CNN)Two separate substances, two separate approaches: The World Health Organization endorsed a gentle view of cannabidiol this week while issuing its sternest warning yet against synthetic opioid carfentanil. Cannabidiol, a naturally occurring chemical found in marijuana plants, is "not likely to be abused or create dependence," an initial review by the WHO's Expert Committee on Drug Dependence found.

The organization decided that international prohibitions against pure cannabidiol are unwarranted, as it poses no public health threat.

Cannabis extract could provide ‘new class of treatment’ for psychosis

The first clinical trial exploring the effects of cannabidiol (hemp extract), one of the major psychoactive compounds in cannabis, found that it could relieve symptoms in patients with psychosis.

Hemp extract has a broadly opposite effect to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main active component in cannabis and the substance that causes paranoia and anxiety.

It also doesn't cause a high, so has little recreational benefit.

Cannabidiol reduces seizures in kids with a severe form of epilepsy, trial shows

A cannabis compound has been proven for the first time to reduce the frequency of seizures in people with a rare, severe form of epilepsy, according to the results of a randomized trial.

For years, parents have pointed to anecdotal benefits of cannabidiol (hemp extract), a compound in the hemp plant that does not produce a high, saying it reduces seizures in treatment-resistant epilepsy.

Now doctors have performed a large-scale randomized trial to show cause and effect, with the findings published in New

Anxiety Relief Without The High? New Studies On Hemp Extract, A Cannabis Extract

For instance, she points to a 2011 study of a few dozen people, some of whom had social anxiety disorder, who were asked to speak in front of a large audience. Researchers compared anxiety levels in people after they took hemp extract, compared to those who got the placebo or nothing at all. (The participants didn't know if they'd been given the drug or the placebo.)

And what did the scientists find? "People who took hemp extract reported significantly less anxiety" compared to those who got the placebo, Blessing says. "It's really interesting."

Hemp Extract Molecule Structure

The biggest difference between the Industrial Hemp Plant and Marijuana is their chemical make-up.

THC Molecule Structure

Hemp Extract contains none of the (THC) molecule make-up that you see to the left. This means that you do not experience any of the psycho-active effects of THC when you take Hemp Extract.

Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA)

Cannabidiolic acid (CBDA)

Cannabidiol (CBD)

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)

Sources, Benefits and Side Effects

We’ll present you some honest information regarding both compounds, so you will be able to see the main differences between them easier.

After comparing THC and Hemp Extract, it’s quite self-evident that the two compounds are vastly different. While they both interact with the receptors in our bodies, they will produce different effects.
